Successful Organization of a Two-Day “Chaupal” Educational Program at BLW Inter College

Varanasi/ A two-day special educational program titled “Chaupal” was successfully organized at BLW Inter College, Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi, from 30 April to 01 May 2026.
“Chaupal” is an academic initiative that has previously been successfully conducted at IIT Delhi and various colleges of the University of Delhi.
In Varanasi, the program was organized in collaboration with BLW Inter College.
The program was inaugurated by the Public Relations Officer, BLW, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his address, he emphasized the importance of dialogue and debate in strengthening democratic values. He stated that such programs help in developing leadership skills, logical thinking, and a positive outlook on contemporary issues among students.
During the two-day program, extensive and meaningful discussions were held on various national and international issues through six committees.

Lok Sabha: Deliberation on privatization of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
AIPPM: Discussion on Judiciary vs. Coalition System
Vidhan Sabha: Teacher policies and educational reforms
*International Committees:*
United Nations General Assembly (UNGA): Prevention of the militarization of outer space and its protection
United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): Human rights in conflict zones and safety of journalists
International Council of Women (ICW): “Peace Talks”
During the program, participating students enthusiastically presented their views in an effective manner. Students who demonstrated outstanding performance were awarded medals, certificates, and mementos by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Rajesh Kumar.
It is noteworthy that the founder of the organization is Mr. Kush Kishore. Prominent personalities such as Mayank Singhal, Raza Ravi, and Animesh Shukla were present at the event.
The main objective of the event was to promote a culture of debate and discussion among students and to make them aware of contemporary issues, research, and policy matters.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal of BLW Inter College, Mr. A. K. Maheshwari. The event was successfully conducted by Apoorva Acharya and her team, while it was directed by Mr. Tejas Dhar Dubey.
